Sometimes nothing beats the classics. This traditional Caprese Salad recipe from chef Conor B is a old favorite with a Kissed by the Sun Twist!
Cook Time: 5 Minutes
Ingredients for Classic Caprese Salad:
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 Ball of Fresh Mozzarella
- 15 Fresh Basil Leaves
- 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/4 cup Balsamic Glaze
- KBS Seasoned Sea Salt (to taste)
- KBS Black Pepper and Herbs (to taste)
Directions for Classic Caprese Salad:
1.) Cut tomatoes and fresh Mozzarella into evenly cut slices. Align them into a straight line off setting each cut. Cut Basil leaves into thin strips or Chiffonade them by layering each of the leaves on a cutting board from biggest to smallest. Roll them from the sides and slice from the top down with a sharp knife. Drizzle Olive Oil and Balsamic Glaze over the salad and sprinkle the basil strips over the salad as well. Season to taste with KBS Seasoned Sea Salt and Black Pepper and Herbs and enjoy!
