Seared Salmon w/ Garlic Mashed Potatoes | Kissed by the Sun

Low sodium seared salmon recipe

Made with KBS Seasoned Sea Salt, Black Pepper & Herbs, & Sunny Island Salt Free 

In house chef Conner B gets creative with this Kissed by the Sun original. Perfect for a summer dinner this recipe incorporates our KBS Salt N Pepper Shakers as well as our sodium free Sunny Island Seasoning.

Cook Time: 25 Minutes 

 

Ingredients for Seared Salmon w/ Garlic Mashed Potatoes 

- Potatoes (3lbs)

- Salmon Fillets

- (2) Garlic Gloves

- (3) 3/4 Stick of Unsalted Butter

- KBS Seasoned Sea Salt

- KBS Sunny Island Blend

- KBS Black Pepper and Herb

- (1 Tablespoon) Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Directions for Seared Salmon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes: 

1.) Boil off potatoes until they are soft enough to whip, take potatoes and put them into a large bowl. Mince 3 gloves of garlic and add them the potatoes as you begin to mash them. Add 3/4 stick of butter and 2 tablespoons of the Kissed by the Sun Sea Salt and 1 tablespoon of the Kissed by the Sun Black Pepper and Herb and continue to whip until potatoes are as creamy as you desire. Generally 10 to 15 minutes. 

2.) Heat up a small pan at medium high heat, when pan is hot add a splash of olive oil. Sprinkle KBS Seasoned Sea Salt, Sunny Island Blend, and Black pepper and Herb over one side of fillets. Lay fillets on hot pan and leave for 2 minutes, Flip fillets and spice the other side using the same blends. Cook for about a minute and a half on other side and serve over mashed potatoes.
