Lox and bagels have become somewhat of a breakfast classic in recent years and can be found on most trendy brunch menus across town. Instead of classic dill our recipe calls for a crunchy twist with herbs found in our KBS Everything Bagel Seasoning and pickled garnishes from our friends at Barrel and Brine. Smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, and herbs like sesame seeds, garlic, onion, poppy seeds, and caraway make for a deliciously fun dish. While you can use any brand of lox - which is brined salmon and not smoked - we use smoked salmon which is brined, then smoked. Both are similar but smoked salmon is easier to find at most grocery stores.
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup capers
- 2 plain bagels
- 1 pound smoked salmon
- KBS Everything Bagel Seasoning
- Barrel & Brine Pickled Red Onions
- Barrel & Brine Pickles
1.) In a small bowl add cream cheese and several dashes KBS Everything Bagel Seasoning, mix well. Toast bagel and add cream cheese followed by Salmon lox. Top with capers and serve with your preference if pickled vegetables. Enjoy!
