Ingredients for Homemade Grape Leave Recipe
- 1 16 ounce jar grape leaves
- 2 cups water
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 2 lemon wedges
- ½ cup white rice
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- ½ tomato, diced
- ½ onion, finely chopped
Directions for homemade Grape Leave Recipe
1.) Sautee onions and 2 tablespoons oil on medium heat for ten minutes. Add tomato paste and lemon juice and cook for 5 more minutes. Meanwhile cook rice according to instructions.
2.) Drain grape leaves and carefully pull them apart and place them in a bowl with cold water.
3.) Mix rice with cooked vegetables and KBS Sweet and Hot Pepper Blend. Place leaves on wide surface and add 2 tablespoons of rice mix. Roll and fold sides tightly into log shape. Place leaves in a shallow baking dish and cover with additional layers of unrolled grape leaves. Add 2 cups of water and bake for 1 hour at 300 degrees
4.) Add to fridge and let cool. Serve with lemon wedge.
