With the outbreak of COVID 19 turning many of our lives upside down, a number of small batch food makers have teamed up to offer Western New Yorkers SAFE HOME DELIVERY of local brands produced right here in Buffalo.

The collaboration will be headed up by local spice company Kissed By The Sun Spices' owner Rick Fickhesen. The concept was born with the cancellation of seasonal vendors for Easter at the Broadway Market and other spring arts and crafts shows both large and small (such as Rochester's Lilac Festival) being cancelled or postponed. "With the ensuing home confinement restrictions put in place a number of us felt the need to respond" says Rick.

Many local food makers including brands like Yancey's Fancy Cheeses, Lewiston Jams & Jellies, We R Nuts, Laura's Raw Honey, Weber Maple Products, Fetch Dog Treats, Broadway Market's Famous
Horseradish, Malczewski’s Butter Lambs, Kelly's Country Store, and Keeping Traditions Pierogis have stockpiles of fresh and delicious foods ready to go in anticipation for another Easter and Spring event season. Thus, the Buffalo Food Makers Collaboration was created to pool strengths and create a one-stop shop for people to buy local and get the added benefit of safe home delivery.

"We have taken steps to make sure all deliveries are handled safely, and that all prices are at the same rate or similar to what you would expect to pay had you seen us out at the Market or other local events" says Rick, who along with employees of Kissed by The Sun and other food makers will stay busy delivering the orders to Erie, Niagara, Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, and Wyoming counties. A dry ice shipping option should be coming in the next few days for out of state orders.

This is an amazing idea! I was so upset thinking I might not have gotten my Traditional local holiday foods. If you were adding the sausages & hams too it would be PERFECT! Is there going to be the opportunity to get “The Meats” too?
